Universal Engineering demonstrates an extensive range of fabrication capabilities from the production of small bracketry to larger industrial and military fabrications weighing in excess of 20 tonnes.

We excel in manufacturing to the exacting requirements of customers with specialist or safety critical products. Large fabrications include structural and mechanical parts for the defence, specialist vehicle, military, power generation and oil exploration industries. These fabrications are carried out using manual or robotically controlled MMA, MIG/MAG and TIG welding processes.

Universal Engineering have welding procedures to BS EN ISO 15614 and ASME IX with all welders qualified to the applicable BS EN 287-1, BS EN ISO 9606 or ASME standards.

All mechanical testing of welding supporting the above approvals is performed by an independent UKAS accredited testing laboratory, who act as a recognised third party organisation, to control and document welding procedures. Constant investment in both plant and staff skills, ensures that Universal Engineering is able to service the needs of modern industry with advanced production methods and the use of exotic materials such as titanium, super duplex and inconel.

At all stages of a project, compliance with best practice, internal systems and industry standards ensures that the correct technology and methodology is employed.

During production or at the post production stage we can employ testing centres to provide destructive and non-destructive testing for strength and integrity, hardness, conductivity, magnetic permeability, mechanical and chemical analysis. For large or heavy items and installations, we construct complex rigs for product testing and evaluation.
